Concert Band
Formed in 1997, Concert Band is the one of the society's largest bands and plays a mix of movie themes and showtunes, with some popular classical music thrown in too. The band is open to woodwind, brass and percussion players of all abilities, from those who haven't played in years, to those at diploma level!
We have regular performance opportunities all over Sheffield, and join the other MPS bands on an annual tour abroad. Recently, we've held two concerts at St Mark's Church, played on the bandstand at Weston Park May Fayre and held a joint 'varsity' concert with Sheffield Hallam Students' Union Band.
The band has a very friendly atmosphere, and is entirely student-led with opportunities to conduct and manage the band available to students too. We're also the only MPS band to have biscuits!

Like all of the MPS ensembles, Concert Band is non-auditioned and new members are always welcome. If you are interested in joining, please visit our Facebook group.
